A Bit About Me
I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of experience supporting people to make meaningful changes to their mental health and quality of life. I value integrity, equity, compassion, openness and connection. My clients and supervisees describe my approach as warm, present, caring, relational, accepting and creative.
I am a clinically endorsed psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency, Board Approved Supervisor, and Clinical Lecturer in Psychology at Adelaide University. I have published a broad range of research articles and book chapters in the field of Psychology . I am trained (and have trained others) in a range of Cognitive Behavioural, Mindfulness and Acceptance based therapeutic approaches, along with Positive Psychology Interventions. I am a passionate EMDR therapist and Full EMDRAA Member, and have undertaken additional professional development in delivering EMDR in intensive formats.
My career has provided me with a rich variety of work experiences and roles. I have worked in public child and family focussed mental health services, private practice settings with child and adult clients, in hospitals, and in schools, supporting people with a broad range of both mental and physical health conditions, trauma, life stress, challenges arising from the experience of neurodiversity and more. I have an ongoing relationship with the University of Adelaide, historically teaching into and co-ordinating clinical psychology postgraduate training and currently, ongoing supervision for the developing practice of the next generation of clinical psychologists.
Outside of work, I love bushwalking, creating abstract art, camping, getting lost in a great book and especially, spending time with family and friends.
