EMDR Intensives
Yoga Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences. EMDR is commonly used to treat trauma, PTSD, childhood trauma, anxiety, panic, grief, phobias, low self-worth, and other difficulties where past experiences continue to affect daily life.
An EMDR Intensive is a concentrated therapy format that provides several hours of therapy over one or more days rather than weekly sessions spread over months. This allows for deeper, more focused work with fewer interruptions and can help people build momentum in their healing process.
Both approaches can be highly effective. Weekly therapy remains valuable and is the right fit for many people. EMDR Intensives simply offer a different way of working, allowing for brief periods of focused treatment and integration to work on specific goals. During your discovery call, we'll help determine which approach best suits your needs.
Each intensive is tailored to the individual and may include treatment planning, goal setting, nervous system regulation and preparation, processing, integration and personalised aftercare planning. The structure is designed to support both effective trauma processing and emotional safety.
Yes. Many clients can successfully access EMDR therapy online. During your discovery call we'll discuss whether Telehealth or in-person therapy is the most appropriate option for your circumstances and treatment goals.
You do not need a referral to access our services. If you wish to claim Medicare rebates, you will need a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral from your GP or another eligible medical practitioner. We'll discuss any applicable rebates and funding options before treatment begins.
The total cost of an EMDR Intensive $1860. This includes a non-refundable deposit of $310. Full payment is due seven days prior to your intensive booking. An invoice and payment link is sent at the time of booking and payment plans can be arranged.
EMDR intensives are significant investment of both time and financial resources. While every person's experience is different, some clients prefer investing in concentrated blocks of therapeutic work rather than attending weekly or fortnightly appointments over many months or years.
The best way to find out is through a discovery call with your preferred psychologist. Together, we will explore your goals, history, current challenges, previous therapy experiences, and what you hope to achieve from the intensive. We can then determine whether an EMDR Intensive, ongoing therapy, or another approach is likely to be the best fit for your needs.
Feeling emotional during trauma therapy can be a normal part of the healing process.
A core part of our approach involves helping clients develop skills for regulation, grounding, and self-compassion prior to any processing. Sessions are carefully paced, and we continually monitor your wellbeing throughout the intensive process.
Your sense of safety remains a priority at every stage of treatment. If it is not safe or suitable to continue or complete the intensive, your psychologist will discuss options with you.
